Powerful stories and big ideas: Presentation at the ALEA/AATE National Conference, Darwin 2022

Dr Lorri Beveridge and Michael Murray presented at the national conference of Australian Literacy Educators’ Association (ALEA) and Australian Association for the Teaching of English (AATE) on ‘Powerful Stories and Big Ideas’ (July, 2022). This presentation highlighted their focus on teaching real English in primary classrooms – in particular, writing quality English units that put the student at the centre of learning, use a tried and tested process, draw on quality literature, incorporate English concepts and integrate literacy and language.
